Auto Document Feeder (ADF)
The ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) allows you to send multi-page faxes, copy or scan multi-page documents without having to place them one at a time on the flatbed.
This feature is important if you frequently need to fax, copy or scan multi-page documents. Simply load the document into the ADF and it will automatically feed each sheet, one at a time.

Photo Paper tray
The Photo Paper tray is a built-in paper tray designed to hold 4 x 6” (10 x15 cm )glossy photo paper. This feature is found on select Color Inkjet All-in-Ones.

LCD
LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)
It is the display on the control panel of the machine which can be used to view menus, user prompts. When there is a color screen – images can also be displayed.

Secure Function Lock
Secure Function Lock lets you restrict public access to certain machine functions (FAX, Copy, Scan and Print) This feature also prevents users from changing default settings of the machine by limiting access to the control panel.
If you will be using your MFC in an environment where you receive highly confidential faxes or print highly confidential documents and would not like anyone other than yourself to view these documents, you should consider a Brother MFC with this function.

SSL
SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is a type of encryption widely used in e-commerce to prevent unlawful access to customers' bank and credit card details. This feature will ensure that your company's information will remain confidential.
Even though a document is sent from a computer to a printer within seconds, this is long enough for an experienced hacker to capture that information through transmission. When a document is sent from a user who has an SSL encrypted key, the printer also has a key to read the data, any unauthorised person trying to capture and access the information is prevented from doing so because they do not have the unique key.
*Note that SSL is only for IPPS printing and when using the internal web page. SSL does not apply when using the standard port.
BalloonDog
The Balloon Dog represents the 4 separate ink cartridge system incorporated into Brother's color inkjet MFCs. Since many inkjet printers use one cartridge to hold all 4 inks, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black, when only one ink color runs out, the customer has to throw away the whole cartridge. With Brother’s 4 ink separate system, when one color runs out, the customer only has to replace the one color and still use the remaining ink for the other colors. This was explained through this cute Balloon Dog, which was born in Australia and became a popular worldwide icon.
