The Customer

U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) was established by Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA). EAC is an independent and bipartisan commission that requires to meet HAVA requirements on voluntary voting system guidelines and serves as a national clearinghouse of information on election administration.

The Challenge

Across United States, voting security is an increasing concern for citizens and government officials. Former Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen has warned of “national security concern” if US elections could not be audited without paper ballots.

Their voting process needs to be transformed to offer ease of voting, along with a trustworthy paper trail and records required as evidence in the event of an audit. Public agencies require a new innovative software solution that could be paired with mobile printers to elevate their security, which will help to reduce fraud in their voting system.

The Solution

With their increased push for a voting paper trail, Greg O’Connell, Vice President of Sales from Brother Mobile Solutions has outlined the important role of mobile printers in hybrid voting systems to ensure secure voting and integrity in voting process. Brother’s PJ-700 series mobile printers were incorporated with Hart InterCivic’s Verity Duo Hybrid voting systems.

Election officials and poll workers have benefited from this most up-to-date and user-friendly platform that offers easy-to-read voting record, secured and transparent election management which protect their voters’ identity.
